Astragalus intercedens Sam. ex Rech.f., it is an annual herb. 10-20 cm long, ascending, covered with appressed and spreading hairs. Leaves 1-3 cm long, stipules 2-5 mm long, lriangular-Ianceolate, ciliate, leaflets 4-6 (-8) pairs, inserted on somewhat dilated rachis, 5-8 (-10) mm long, oblong-obovale, sub peliolulate, hairy on both sides. Peduncles usually longer than subtending leaves. Racemes 1-3 (-4)-flowered, bracts 1.5-2 mm, longer than pedicels, triangular-subulate to lanceolate. ciliately hairy. Flowers 10-15 mm long, purplish, turning yellowish when dried. Calyx 8 mm long, tubular, black and white-hirsute, teeth 1.5 mm long. Pods 25-40×2.5-3.5 mm, erect, compressed, falcate, strigulose, deeply grooved-canaliculate at back, separating at maturity into 2 valves, each closed by a septal lamella.
