Trifolium suffocatum L., it is an annual herb, up to 2-8 cm, glabrescent, procumbent-spreading. Leaves all alternate, long petiolate, leaflets obovate in corner, strongly veined, denticulate at the top. Flowers white, very small (4 mm), sessile, packed in small sessile heads, axillary, ovoid, pauciflorous, very close together and almost confluent at the base of the stems. Calyx glabrescent, with almost equal teeth, lanceolate-acuminate, at the end curved, equal to the tube, obovate standard, much shorter than the chalice. Pods included, obliquely mucronate, with 2 seeds. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Mar-Apr, Vern:————–, Phytochoria: ES+MED+IT, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Great Britain, Medit.
