Geranium tuberosum L., it is a perennial plant, finely pubescent, with a tuberous, subglobose stem. Stems 20-40 cm, erect, slender, bare up to the bifurcations. Leaves polygonal-suborbicular, palmatized, with 5-7 lanceolate segments, pennatipartite, with entire or toothed lobes. Flowers purple or pinkish-purple, 1.5-2.5 (-3) cm across, quite large, in a corymb, uni-biflorous peduncles, much longer than the leaf, fruiting pedicels erect. Sepals spreading, mucronate, hairy. Heart-shaped petals, 1-2 times longer than the calyx, with a short, ciliate tab. Stamen filaments ciliated internally, filaments purple or pinkish-purple, not or slightly dilated at the base, the outer whorl glabrous, the inner long haired. Mericarps 3-4 mm long, pubescent, not wrinkled, beak 1-2 cm long (including c. 0.5 mm long style), hirsute. Seeds ellipsoid-subglobosc 2-2.5 mm long, brown, punctate or smooth. Life Form: G, Flowering in: Feb- May , Vern:———-, Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is W. Central Medit. to Iran and S. Turkmenistan. Notes: Wild in Libya.
