Romulea cyrenaica Bèg, it is a tuberous geophyte herb with ovoid, c. 7-8 mm across, bulb form corm, covered by brown-reddish scales. Stem (scape) leafy, less than 6 cm tall. Leaves filiform c. 150 x 4 mm, recurved, with acute tip. Inflorescence 1-2-flowered. Flowers filiform, flexuous, violet to yellowish. Perianth small, 7-10 mm long, segments linear. Stamens half as long as perianth, filaments as long as medifixed anthers. Style ± shorter to equaling the stamens. Capsule oblong, 10 mm long, obtuse. Seeds numerous. Life Form: G, Flowering in: Feb-Mar, Vern:——————, Phytochoria: Endemic, The native range of this species is NE. Libya. Notes: Wild in Libya.
