Teucrium compactum Clemente ex Lag., it is a shrublet up to 20-40 cm, much branched, procumbent or ascending. Leaves sessile or sub sessile, broadly lanceolate or oblong, crenate except the cuneate base. Inflorescence somewhat densely spicate. Flowers sessile, solitary or in pairs. Bracts lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, entire usually as long as the calyx. Calyx inflated, ± campanulate, 8-9 x 4-5 mm, glandular villose, strongly veined, teeth c.  1/3   as long as the tube, triangular, acuminate. Corolla c. 12 mm long, yellowish white, tube included in the calyx. Seeds, 0.5-0.7 x 0.4-0.5 mm, black or brown, ornamented.  Life Form: H,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern: Jaada,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is SE. Spain, N. Africa.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
