Thymus algeriensis Boiss. & Reut., it is a suffrutesccnt procumbent herb or subshrub,  covered with short subretrose hairs. Cauline leaves linear or linear lanceolate, margins revolute with acute apex. Verticils arranged in condensed, oblong-capitate inflorescence. Calyx sparsely hispid glandular, bilabiate from the middle with a tridentate upper lip, teeth narrowly lanceolate, lower lip with 2-subulate, ciliate or bristle like teeth. Corolla purple, tube sub exserted.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in: Apr-Jun,   Vern: Zaatar,   Phytochoria: SA, The native range of this species is N. Africa.   Notes: Wild in Libya, medicinal plant.
