Veronica anagallis-aquatica L., it is an erect perennial (rarely annual), 10-60 cm (-100) cm tall, simple or often diffusely branched at the base, glabrous or rather sparsely glandular hairy. Leaves (15-) 20-100 x (5-) 7-5U mm, lower ovate-elliptic, ovate, often petiolate, upper ovate-lanceolate, sessile, usually amplexicaul, irregularly serrate. Racemes mostly glabrous or sometimes glandular pubescent, much longer than the subs tending leaves. Bracts linear, 4-5 mm long; pedicels 4-7 mm long, erecto-patent or somewhat arcuate-ascending. Calyx segments lanceolate to somewhat ovate, 2-2.5 x 1-1.25 mm erect in fruit. Corolla 5-10 mm in diameter, blue to violet, lobes rounded. Capsule ovate to orbicular or elliptical, 2.5-4 x 2.5-3 mm slightly cuneate, glabrous or somewhat shortly glandular-pubescent. Style up 10 2.5 mm long. Seeds many. somewhat oblong 0.5 x 0.4-0.5 mm. Life Form: Ch, Flowering in: Jan-May, Vern:————–, Phytochoria: S-Cosm, The native range of this species is Temp. Eurasia to Tropical Mountains. Notes: Wild in Libya, Rare in Liby.
