Notes: The native range of this subspecies Erodium salzmannii ssp. tocranum (Guitt. & Le Houér.) Guitt. / Syn. Erodium tocranum Guitt. & Le Houér. is Libya, it is a endemic in Libya. It is an annual, caulesccnt herb. Leaves paripinnate compound, Leaflets entire to pinnatipartite, stipules membranous, ovate, acuminate, ciliate on margms. Inflorescence 3-6-flowered, bracts membranous, free, nerves green, ciliate. Sepals lanceolate, 3-5-nerved, with c. 0.5 mm long or obsolete mucro. Petals rosy, lanceolate, slightly unequal, 3-nerved, claw ciliate. Fertile filaments with violaceous anthers. Antlerless filaments narrowly lanceolate, glabrous. Mericarps narrowly oblanceolate-oblong, 5-6 mm long, antrorsely-spreading hairy; apical pits glabrous with a narrow furrow beneath, beak 4-6 cm long, barbate.
