Indigofera hochstetteri Baker/ Heterotypic Synonyms: Indigofera semhaensis Vierh, it is an annual herb, with taproot, stem branched from base, branches 10-60 cm high, decumbent or loosely ascending, sparsely striguous. Leaves with setaceous or narrowly triangular-acuminate stipules, 3-5 mm long, petiole 6-17 mm long, leaflets 3-7, opposite, elliptical, 8-30 mm long and 2-9 mm wide, striguose below, glabrous above. Racemes arising in well-developed leaf axils, 12-50-flora, reaching almost 10 cm long at maturity, includes peduncle 0.2-3 cm long. Flower, calyx 2-3.5 mm long, lobes slender, much longer than the short tube. Red corolla, standard broadly oval to subrounded, 3.5-4.5 mm long, striguous on the back. Pods reflexed, agglomerated, straight or slightly arched, thin, strongly flattened, 10-20 mm long and 2- 3 mm wide, ± scattered shaggy-striguose. Seeds 4-8, small, with marked outline in the walls of the pod.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in:————-   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: SS+ Tro. Africa, The native range of this species is Sahara to Dry Tropical Africa, Arabian Peninsula to India.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
