| Lamium amplexicaule L., it is an annual or biennial herb up to 10-30 cm, finely pubescent, with diffuse-ascending stems, slender, long bare below the flowers. Lower leaves ovate-rounded, crenate, petiolate, the upper ones kidney-shaped orbicular, sessile, embracing the whorls, crenate-lobed. Purpurine flowers, quite small, in 2-3 spaced whorls, no bracteoles. Calyx very hairy, with connivent teeth after flowering, a little shorter than its tube. Corolla about 1.5-2 cm, with a slender, straight tube, 3 times longer than the calyx or very short, naked inside, with an entire upper lip. Smooth carpels. Nutlet 1.6-3 x 0.8-1 mm. ovoid, trigonous, base acute, dark brown. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Jan-Jun, Vern:—————–, Phytochoria: Cosm, The native range of this species is Temp. Eurasia, Macaronesia to Ethiopia. Notes: Wild in Libya, weed in grassy plots and cultivated fields
