Marrubium alysson L., it is a perennial herb. 30-40 cm tall, densely white fleecy. Stem simple or with ascending, erect flowering branches. Leaves grey-tomentose., fan-shaped or broadly spalhulate, densely white wooly, crenate, 2-3 x 3-4 cm. usually glabrescent above. Verticils 10-15-flowered. Bracteoles very small or absent. Calyx tube short, 4-5 mm long, faintly 10-veined, densely wooly, teeth 5, unequal. 2-3 x 1-1.5 mm, broadly lanceolate, stellate-spready, rigid and spiny at maturity. Corolla purple violet, limb short, pubescent on outside, upper lip bifid.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern: Rubia,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is S. Central & S. Medit.  Notes: Wild in Libya, medicinal plant.
