Nepeta cyrenaica Quezel & Zaffran, it is an annual herb, up to c. 60 cm tall. erect, dichotomously branched from the base, pubescent stem quadrangular, leafy. Leaves 2.5-3.0 x 1.5-2 cm. oblong-elliptic, chordate at base, sub-acute, lower leaves petiolate, upper ones sub sessile. Inflorescence biparous cymse, lateral flowers sub sessile, middle ones sessile, bractas ovate-lanceolate, pubescent, 15 x 4 mm, bracteoles smaller, linear-lanceolate. Calyx 6-9 mm long, straight, 15-veined, teeth 5, ± equal, c. 4-5 mm long. Corolla pale-blue, 6 mm long, densely pubescent on outside, fringed hairy within. Stamens 4 included. Style glabrous, exserted with 2 simple stigmas.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: Endemic, The native range of this species is NE. Libya. Notes: Wild in Libya, Endemic to Al-Gabal Al-Akhder.
