Ononis mitissima L., it is an annual herb 20-60 cm, branched from the base, erect or ascending, glabrescent, non-thorny. Leaves trifoliolate, Leaflets with serrated margin, broadly elliptical at first, then obovate, sometimes deciduous in fruiting. Shortly pediceled flowers, arranged in very dense terminal clusters. Corolla longer than the calyx, glabrous, pink banner. Pods c. 6 mm, straw yellow, compressed, ovate or oblong-ovate, completely included in the calyx and ending in a beak, usually with 2 seeds. Seeds ovoid, asymmetrical, with domed faces, c. 2 x 2 x 1.35 mm.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Apr-Jul,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Medit.    Notes: Wild in Libya.
