Ononis sicula Guss./Homotypic Synonyms: Ononis viscosa  ssp. sicula (Guss.) Hub., it is an annual herb  up to 10–25 cm, branched from the base. Hairy stems, with glandular hairs. Leaves trifoliolate, the upper ones unifloliolate, Leaflets 2–25 x 1–8 mm, mostly oblong-lanceolate to linear or narrowly elliptical, weakly toothed in the upper half. Inflorescences with 1(–2) flowers; peduncles short awned. Flowers short pediceled, patent, pendulous after anthesis. Calyx 6–10 mm, campanulate, hairy, with teeth c. 3 times longer than the tube. Corolla 5–10 mm, usually as long as the calyx or shorter, Flowers pale yellow. Sometimes purple-veined on the standard.. Pods 7.8–17 mm, c. 2 times longer than the calyx, oblong-cylindrical, glandular-hairy, with 8–25 seeds. Seeds 0.8–1.1 x 0.8–1.1 x 0.6–0.7 mm, reniform, somewhat asymmetrical.   Life Form: Th,   Flowering in:——————-,   Vern:——————-,   Phytochoria: MED+SA+IT, The native range of this species is Medit. to Iran and N.
