Satureja thymbra L., it is a shrublets up to 20-25 cm tall, very aromatic, with many grey puberulent tortuosus, branches. Leaves 8-20 x 2-5 mm. oblong to obovate, cuneate, conduplicate, acuminate, and sessile. Verticils many-flowered, sessile, globose, dense forming an interrupted spike or thyrsus, bracts ± as long as the verticils, bracteoles many oblong or lanceolate, ± equal to calyx. Calyx 5-8 mm, long patent hairy, the teeth slightly shorter than tube, lanceolate to subulate, acuminate. Corolla 8-12 mm long, purplish red or bright-pink. Nutlets oblong c. 2.5 s 1.5 mm.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in: Apr-Aug,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is S. Sardegna to E. Medit.   Notes: Wild in Libya, medicinal plant, Endangered Plant in Libya.
