Teucrium apollinis Maire & Weiller , it is a suffrutescent perennial much branched, branches prostrate, very leafy, tomentose with long, simple crisped subadpressed hairs. Young leaves whitish tomentose above, densely greyish tomentose below, oblong-ohovate, obtuse, flat ± revolute margined. Flowers in subglobose, axillary or terminal heads. Heads c. 2 cm in diam, forming racemes. Bracts leafy, shorter than calyx. Flowers subessile. Calyx c. 7 mm long, campanulate with short crisped simple hairs, teeth c. 1.5 mm long, unequal broad, ovate, sub acuminate, aristate and carinate. Corolla large, c. 8 mm long, tube sparsely villous, hairs long, septate. Stamens slightly exserted, filaments purplish, sparsely long villous, anthers light saffron. Style glabrous, somewhat purplish, overtopping the stamens. Fruiting rarely.  Life Form: H,   Flowering in: Apr-May,   Vern:——————,   Phytochoria: Endemic, The native range of this species is NE. Libya.  Notes: Wild in Libya, endemic in Cyrenaica.
