Teucrium fruticans L., it is a perennial, much branched shrub, whitish tomentose, ascending, up to 200 cm long, with quadrangular stem. Leaves sub sessile, lanceolate to ovate, 4-22 x 2-6 mm, entire, flat, dark green, glabrous and glossy above, whitish tomentose beneath. Verticils 2-flowered, bracts leaf-like. Flowers large, pale blue or lilac. Calyx shortly campanulate, c. 7 mm long, whitish tomentose outside, glabrous within. Corolla, 15-25 mm long, with a long lip. Stamens and style long exserted. Fruit obovoid-oblong, pale brown, puberulus, reticulate, 4 x 2 mm.  Life Form: N.Ph,   Flowering in: Feb-Jun ,   Vern: Jaada,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is W. & Central Medit.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
