Trifolium squamosum L., it is an annual herb up to 10-40 cm, pubescent, erect or ascending. Upper leaves opposite, petiolate, leaflets obovate or oblong, barely denticulate, stipules narrow, with linear free part, longer than the fused part. Pinkish white flowers, in fairly small heads (10-14 mm wide), ovoid, solitary, terminal, pedunculated, rarely sessile. Fruiting calyx with a bell-shaped tube, glabrescent, with 10 ribs not reaching the flared apex, with herbaceous, ciliated, spreading, stiff, lanceolate-acuminate teeth, with 3 ribs, unequal, the longer lower one equaling the tube. Corolla twice as long as the calyx.
