Lathyrus setifolius L., it is an annual plant up to 30-60 cm, glabrous, stems angular, climbing. Leaves with 1 pair of linear-elongated leaflets, rowing tendrils, stipules linear, equal to the petiole. Brick red flowers, quite small (9-10 mm), solitary on capillary peduncles, not ridged, articulated at the top, longer than the petiole, shorter than the leaf. Calyx with slightly unequal teeth, equal to the tube. Corolla 8-10 mm long. Pods 20-25 mm by 7-10, rhomboidal-oblong, stipitate, pubescent on the sutures, network-veined, tawny. Seeds large tubercular 2-3, globular, papillose 3-6 mm, purple-brown. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Mar-Jul, Vern:————-, Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Canary Islands, Medit.
