Malva ludwigii (L.) Soldano, Banfi & Galasso / Homotypic Synonyms:  Althaea ludwigii L., it is an annual to perennial, decumbent herb, up to 60 cm long, pilose, hairs appressed and spreading. Leaves simple, petiole up to 5.5 cm long, lamina palmatisect, bigger lobes 3-4, up to 3.7 cm long, with smaller ± rounded lobes towards the lip, stellate pubescent, sometimes glabrous above. Flowers in clusters, 1-many in the axil of each leaf. Epicalyx segments 7-10, c. 7 mm long, densely stellate-pubescent hairs long. Calyx 6-10 mm long, densely stellate-pubescent, markedly acerescent in fruit. Corolla whitish or pink, petals 5-6 mm long, entire or retuse. Staminal tube hairy below. Fruit 6-8 mm across. Mericarps 9-10, glabrous, lateral faces wrinkled.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern:—————-,   Phytochoria: SA+IT , The native range of this species is N. Africa to NW. India, Namibia to N. Cape Prov.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
