Malva unguiculata (Desf.) Alef. / Heterotypic Synonyms:  Lavatera bryoniifolia Mill., it is a woody perennial plant, up to 3 m tall, stem much branched, young branches stellate tomcntose. Petiole up to 3 cm long, lamina 5-lobed, up to 7 cm long, lamina of the upper leaves hastate, all crenate, indumentum dense, hairs stellate. Flowers mostly one rarely 2, in the leaf axil. Pedicel 3-10 mm long, densely stellate-hairy. Epicalyx cup-like, 8-10 mm long, densely stellate-hairy, invaginated at the point of insertion of the pedicel, segments very abruptly acuminate. Calyx 13-15 mm long, densely hairy, teeth acuminate. Petals 20-25 mm long, pink or pink-violet. Meriearps muricate, not rugose.  Life Form: Ph,   Flowering in: May-Jun,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED,  Notes: Wild in Libya.
