Himantoglossum robertianum (Loisel.) P.Delforge / Homotypic Synonyms:. Barlia robertiana (Loisel.) Greuter, it is a tuberous geophyte, perennial plant up to 20-50 cm, glabrous, robust, with large oval tubers. Leaves oval or oblong, green. Flowers large, green and purple, glabrous. Sepals laxly attached with the petals, oval-round, 3-4-nerved, 10-12 mm long. Petals clearly green with purple dots, linear-oblong, obtuse, 1-nerved. Labellum broad and largely deflected, cuneiform at the base, margin undulate, ± 4-lobed, clearly purple; lateral lobes largely linear, falciform, obtuse, ± undulate-crisped at the margin; midlobe elongate, largely cuneiform with 2 divergent, oblong, obtuse lobes. Sac conical, purple-green, 5-6 mm long. Gynostemium thick, about 8-10 mm long; anther obovate, obtuse, lobes separate, beak lamellar, forming a rostellum. Stigma obcordate- triangular. Staminodes small, papiliform, whitish. Ovary sessile, cylindrical or sub fusiform, about 15 mm long. Capsule membranaceous, oblong, sub triquetrous, 6-ribbed.  Life Form: G,   Flowering in: Jan-Apr,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Medit.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
