Cistanche violacea (Desf.) Hoffmanns. & Link, it is a holoparasitic, similar to the Cistanche tubulosa (Schenk) Wight ex Hook.f., but flowers deep-violet to violet-brown, often with whitish or violaceous corolla tube or flower base and a yellow line in the thront, style and stigma whitish, anther lobes acute.  Life Form: Pa,   Flowering in: Feb-Apr,   Vern: Zanon,   Phytochoria: SA, The native range of this species is Mauritania to Syria and Arabian Peninsula.   Notes: Wild in Libya, parasitic on Chenopods.
