Orobanche schultzii Mutel, it is a holoparasite, a rather robust, glandular-pubescent plant, 10-60 cm tall, simple or weakly branched from the middle; stem up to 10 (-14) mm thick, ± swollen at base. Scales 5-10 mm long, ovate to lanceolate, numerous. Spikes up to 7 x 4 cm, dense above, often lax below; bracts 8-12 mm, lanceolate; bracteoles linear-lanceolate, slightly shorter than the calyx. Flowers mostly shortly pediculate. Calyx 8-12 mm long; teeth 2-3 times as long as the tube, linear-lanceolate with subulate apex. Corolla 16-21 mm, glandular hairy, erect, straight, tubular to narrowly campanulate, whitish at base, blue to violet above; lobes of lower lip elliptic, acute to acuminate. Stamen filaments glabrous or sub glabrous, inserted 4-5 mm above base of corolla; anthers hairy; stigma white. Capsules 7-8 mm.  Life Form: Pa,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern:————,   Phytochoria: MED+IT , The native range of this species is Canary Islands, Medit. to NE. Afghanistan.  Notes: Wild in Libya, parasitic on Centaurea dimorphotica
