Linaria simplex Desf., it is a slender, glaucescent annual, glabrous except for the glandular hairy inflorescence, (7-) 10-30 cm. Stem 1-several, simple or branched with small, sterile shoots. Leaves linear, linear-lanceolate, those of sterile shoots whorled and of flowering shoots whorled below and alternate above, 10-20 x 1-2 mm. Raceme capitate at flowering, becoming elongated in fruit. Bracts linear, much longer than the pedicel; pedicel 1-2 mm long, glandular pubescent, elongated in fruit. Calyx lobes linear-spathulate, 3-4 mm, glandular hairy. Corolla bright yellow, 6-8 mm long, including spur, upper lip violet veined; spur 2-3 mm, slender conical, ± straight. Capsule subglobose, 4-6 mm long, somewhat longer than the calyx lobes. Seeds discoid, 1.5-1.8 (-2) mm with a membranous margin; disc tuberculate or smooth, black.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is Canary Islands, Medit. to Central Asia and NW. Pakistan, Arabian Peninsula.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
