Apteranthes europaea (Guss.) Murb. / Homotypic Synonyms:  Caralluma europaea (Guss.) N.E.Br., it is a succulent  plant  fleshy,  with a cactiform appearance that goes practically unnoticed due to its mimicry with the habitat where it grows, and it has showy reddish flowers streaked with white that give off an unpleasant rotten smell which serves as a lure to attract their main pollinators (Hymenoptera), Life Form: Su, Flowering in: Nov-Mar, Vern: Dagmus, Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is SE. Spain, Sicilia (Linosa, Lampedusa), N. Africa to W. Jordan.,  Notes: Wild in Libya
