Astragalus graecus Boiss., it is a perennial herb up to 20-30 cm (or more) long, robust, erect or ascending, branched and woody below, densely hairy with long, crisp hairs. Leaves stipulate, usually up to 20 cm long, with mostly 21-31 leaflets, stipules membranous, lanceolate, lower broader, upper narrower, free, leaflets sub orbicular to oblong-suborbicular, 5-10 mm long, glabrous above, hairy below, alternate to almost opposite. Axillary racemes 5-19-flowered, mostly sub sessile. Flowers 2.5 cm long, pale yellow, shortly pediculate, bracteates, bracts subulate or linear, membranaceous shorter than calyx. Calyx 12-14 mm long, membranaceous, hirsute, teeth shorter than tube. Corolla twice as long as calyx, standard obviate-oblong, exceeding the keel. Ovary pubescent, oblong, 14-ovuled. Pods oblong or ovate-oblong, 2S x 10 mm. excluding the slyle. Life Form: Ch, Flowering in:————, Vern:————, Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Central & S. Greece, NE. Libya.
