Astragalus hamosus L., it is an annual herbaceous species, branched from the base, with appressed hairs. Stems up to 50–60 cm, prostrate or ascending. Stipules triangular, acuminate, hairy. Leaves petiolate, odd-pinnate, with 7–15 pairs of opposite leaflets, leaflets narrowly ovate or oblong-obovate. Racemes inflorescences, with 2–18 flowers, on penduncles usually shorter than the axillary leaf. Calyx 4–7 mm, with equal teeth, somewhat shorter than the tube, densely hairy. Corolla 6–11 mm, usually white [in our material]; banner clearly longer than the wings. Sheath up to 50–60 mm, acuminate at the apex, curved like a hook, with appressed hairs. Seeds up to 1.5–2.3 x 1.6–1.7 x 0.8–0.9 mm, compressed, mostly square or rectangular in outline; triangular only the one located at the basal end of the sheath. Well-marked hilar notch, almost always located towards the center of the seed. Very small, circular, almost pointed thread. Surface of the testa somewhat shiny, amber in color with black dots and spots.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Medit. to Pakistan.    Notes: Wild in Libya.
