Astragalus macrocarpus DC., it is a perennial herb, erect, robust , up to 60 cm tall, villose with long hairs. Leaves 10-25 cm long, arcuate-spreading, slipules 10-30 mm long, free nearly to the base, membranous, linear-subulate,hairy,Ieaflets 10-22 pairs, 10-20 x 6-10 mm, ovale to oblong ellipticial, flat or folded, retuse. Peduncles much shoter than subtending leaves with 5-12-flowered racemes, often subsessile. Flowers 20-35 mm long, yellow. Calyx tubular, about half as long as corolla. Sparingly white-villose, teeth about half as long as tube or shorter, lanceolate·linear, Standard oblong, spatulale, retuse. Pods 50-60 x 30 (-40) mm, woody, corky, obovoid, inflated, glabrous or hairy wilh rounded or concave sutures and a sharp, straight beak. 10 mm long.   Life Form: H,   Flowering in:—————–,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: E, MED, The native range of this species is Cyprus, Syria to Sinai.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
