Biserrula pelecinus L. / Homotypic Synonyms: Astragalus pelecinus (L.) Barneby // Syn. Astragalus pelecinus ssp. pelecinus, it is an annual herb up to 10-30 cm, hairy, lying or ascending. Leaves imparipinnate, with 7-15 pairs of oval or oblong leaflets, entire, stipules free, lanceolate. Flowers whitish, bluish at the top, small, spreading, 3-10 in subglobose clusters, loose, on peduncles shorter than the leaf. Calyx hairy, bell-shaped, with 5 equal, linear teeth, equal to the tube, standard erect, oval, longer than the wings equaling the obtuse hull, diadelphous stamens. Pods of 15-30 mm by 6-8, pendulous, broadly linear, flattened, bearing on both sides on the back a row of acute teeth separated by rounded sinuses, glabrous or pubescent, with 2 locules and with seeds in 2 rows.
