Cistanche lutea (Desf.) Hoffmanns. & Link / Homotypic Synonyms:  Cistanche phelypaea ssp. lutea (Desf.) Fern.Casas & M.Laínz, it is a holoparasitic perennial, a rather robust, non-green, almost glabrous herb with a stem 20–50(–100) cm tall, usually colored in various shades of yellow. The leaves are stunted, transformed into ovate to lanceolate, 2-3 cm long scales. The inflorescence is a dense terminal cylindrical, 15–30(–35) cm long raceme; bracts about as long as the calyx; flowers are erect, bisexual, 3–5 cm long, symmetrical; the calyx is bell-shaped, ending in short blunt tips; corolla has a curved tube, upper and lower lip little distinct, slightly shorter than tube; 5 stamens grow from the inside to the crown; gynoecium fused from 2 carpels, testicle is upper, single capsule, scar two-lobed. The fruit is a capsule; the numerous seeds are very small.   Life Form: Pa,   Flowering in:————–,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: SA,  Notes: Wild in Libya.
