Cistanche tubulosa (Schenk) Wight ex Hook.f., it is a holoparasitic perennial, robust plant, up to 150 cm tall, glabrous to puberulous, with base up to 5 cm broad; scales (10-) 20-30 (-40) x (7-) 10-15 (-20) mm, triangular to broadly linear, acute. Bract slightly exceeding the calyx; bracteoles shorter than calyx. Calyx 14-18 mm long, including lobes c. 1/3 as long as the tube; lobes rounded at apex. Corolla 30-50 x 15.20 mm at the mouth, much narrower and tubular below, usually yellowish with purplish-violaceous lobes, rarely white; lobes short, sub rounded, entire, reflexed. Staminal filaments woolly at base; anthers densely hairy, rounded or obtuse at ends. Capsules 20-25 mm long, ovoid-oblong, many seeded, beaked. Seeds c. 1 mm long, pitted, dark coloured.
