Erica multiflora L., it is a subshrub or shrub up to 0.3-2(3) m. Young stems with prominent ribs, brownish or whitish, pubescent with very short, patent non-glanduliferous hairs or glabrous. Leaves (4)6-11(14) × 0.84.3(1.5) mm, in whorls of 4-5, erect, linear, so revolute that the underside is not visible, sometimes with small spaced teeth, glabrous or hairy on the upper surface, the young ones sometimes with glanduliferous cilia. Multiflorous, racemiform, congested inflorescences, the partial ones, with 1-3 flowers, each one with an involucrum of basal bracteoles. Pedicels 6-12(18) mm, very thin, glabrous, purple, bracteoles 3, from  1(1.5) mm, whorled or rarely alternate and approximate, inserted into the lower half of the pedicel. Sepals (1.3)1.5-2(2.5) mm, ± free, ovate or lanceolate, rarely oblong-lanceolate, pink, with a keeled and cuculated apex, glabrous, membranous, ciliate. Corolla (3)3.5-5.5(7) mm, tubular or narrowly bell-shaped, pinkish, occasionally albino; lobes of c. 0.6 mm, erect or patent. Anthers (0.8)1-1.5 mm generally larger than 1 mm, exserted, dorsifixed, without appendages, generally parallel thecae. Ovary glabrous, style of c. 4 mm, long exserted, thin, smooth; stigma very narrowly obconic, barely dilated at anthesis. Capsule 2-2.5 mm, ovoid-tetragonal, glabrous. Seeds of c. 1(1.5) mm, oblong-ellipsoidal, striated. 2n = 24*.  Life Form: N.Ph,   Flowering in: May-Des,   Vern: Hamra,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is W. & Central Medit.    Notes: Wild in Libya, common in calcareous rocks.
