Gagea granatellii (Parl.) Parl., It is a bulbous geophyte, bulbs usually in pairs, large bulb spherical 1-1.5 cm in diameter, smooth, the other small reticulate-foveolate, tunics coriaceous, brownish, enveloped in fibrous roots. Leaves 2, flat, linear-lanceolate attenuating towards tip, usually exceeding the inflorescence, up to 0.7 cm broad, margins, and basal parts densely hairy. Bracts leafy, ± canaliculate, equaling to longer than flowers, margins ciliate. Scape 6-15 cm long, glabrous to villose, inflorescence umbellate-corymb, 2-15-flowered, pedicels 1-1.5 cm long. Perianth showy, with narrow-lanceolate tepals, 1-1.5 cm long, outer surface villose, greenish with yellowish to whitish margins, inner surface yellow. Stamens 0.7-1 cm long, filaments ± filiform, anthers ovoid-oblong. Ovary obovid-elongate ± trilobed, style as long as to slightly longer than stamens.  Capsule ovoid-oblong ± trilobed, seeds oblong to ovoid with brown, reticulate testa.  Life Form: G,   Flowering in: Feb-Apr,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is W. Central Medit.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
