Geranium lucidum L., it is an annual herb, glabrescent, shiny, often reddish, odorless. Stems 10 to 30 cm, fragile. Leaves kidney-shaped orbicular, palmatifid, with 5 to 7 wedge-shaped lobes, obtuse, shallow, incised-crenate. Flowers bright pink rarely white, 1.5-2 cm across, quite small, biflorous peduncles, longer than the leaf. Calyx glabrous, pyramidal, with five very projecting angles, with erect sepals, constricted at the top, briefly awned, wrinkled crosswise. Petals entire, with a very long and glabrous tab. Stamens all fertile, filaments dilated and glabrous at the base. Mericarps c. 2.5 mm long, laterally compressed. longitudinally ridged, irregulady reticulate-rugose, sparsely uncinate hairy at the apex and base, beak up to 1 cm long, attenuate to 3-6 mm loog style. Seeds ± ellipsoid-oblong, 1.5-2 mm long, smooth. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Mar-Jun, Vern:————–, Phytochoria: ES+MED+IT, The native range of this species is Madeira to N. Africa, Europe to Central Asia and India. Notes: Wild in Libya.
