Hypecoum procumbens L., it is an annual, glaucous, procumbent herb, with striate stem and 2-pinnatisect leaves; ultimate leaf segments linear to lanceolate. Flowers usually small. 5-10 mm in diam. Petals yellow, the outer 3-lobed, almost as wide as long, with lateral lobes much smaller than the middle; the inner petals 3-fid with sub orbicular middle lobe, uniformly yellow and without fimbriate margins. Anther 1 mm long with ± prolonged, 2-fid connective, violaceous. Fruit jointed,(3-) 4-6 cm long, terete, ± compressed, arcuate-erect, tapering above. Seeds c. 2 mm, sub orbicular-ovoid, irregularly rugose.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern:————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Canary Islands, Medit. to N. Iraq.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
