| Lotus tetragonolobus L. / Homotypic Synonyms: Tetragonolobus purpureus Moench, it is an annual herb up to 10 – 40 cm, softly hairy, lying or ascending, with slender root. Leaflets obovate rhomboidal, obtuse, stipules ovate-lanceolate, approximately equal to the petiole, dark purple flowers, solitary or twinate on peduncles equal to or slightly exceeding the leaf, with a small leaf at the top, bell-shaped calyx, with teeth a little longer than the tube; glabrous, blackish, pods, bordered by 4 wavy wings as wide as its diameter. Seeds many, 2-3 mm, globular, brown. Life Form: Th, Flowering in: Feb-Apr, Vern: Garambush, Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Medit. Notes: Wild in Libya.
