Malva multiflora (Cav.) Soldano, Banfi & Galasso / Heterotypic Synonyms:  Lavatera cretica L., it is an annual or biennial, stem erect. Petiole up to 12 cm, lamina suborbicular cordate, up to 20 cm in diameter, 5-7 lobed, serrate, thinly hairy on both the surfaces. Flowers in fascicles in the leaf axil. pedicels unequal, 8-15 mill long. Epicalyx segments 4-6 mm long, ovate, united c. 2 mm at the base. Calyx, 7-8 mm long, pilose, hairs stellate. Petals 10–20 mm long, lilac-pink. Mericarps 7-11, rounded, faintly rugose only at the margins.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Apr-May,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, SW. England to Medit.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
