| Onobrychis caput-galli (L.) Lam., it is an annual plant 10-40 cm, whitish-pubescent. leaves with 5-7 pairs of leaflets. purpurine flowers, very small, close together 3-6 in short, loose clusters on peduncles roughly equal to the leaf. Calyx with linear awl teeth, twice as long as the tube. Corolla little beyond the teeth of the calyx. Pods close together in heads, pubescent, with faces provided with deep dimples and protruding, spiny ribs, with a keeled exterior suture and lined with unequal awl-shaped spines.
