Trifolium nigrescens Viv., it is an annual herb, up to 10-30 cm, glabrous, prostrate-prone, non-rooting, with full stems. Leaflets obovate in corner, often spotted with black, ribbed, denticulate, stipules lanceolate, abruptly acuminate. White, fragrant flowers, 7-10 mm long, pedicellate, reflexed at the end, in fairly small, globose, loose heads, pedicels equal to the calyx tube. Calyx glabrous, with unequal teeth, curved after flowering, the upper ones equal to the tube, standard 1-2 times longer than the chalice. Corolla 6-9 mm, white, cream or pink, becoming brown. Pods protruding, bumpy, crenate at the lower edge, with 3-4 seeds.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern:—————-,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Azores, Medit. to Iran.     Notes: Wild in Libya.
