Vicia peregrina L., it is an annual climbing herb. up to 20-50 cm, weakly pubescent, slender.  Leaves with 3-7 pairs of spaced, linear, notched leaflets with 2 acute lobes, simple or rowed tendrils. Stipules with 2 entire linear lobes. Dull purple flowers, quite small, axillary, solitary, briefly pedunculated. Calyx pubescent, bell-shaped, with unequal teeth, the 2 upper ones short and curved outwards, the lower one equaling the tube, hairless standard. Pods 30-40 mm by 8-12, oblong, stipitate, pubescent with applied hairs, pendulous and tawny when ripe. seeds 3-7.   Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Feb-May,   Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: ES+MED+IT, The native range of this species is Madeira, Medit. to Central Asia and Vietnam.    Notes: Wild in Libya.
