Umbilicus rupestris (Salisb.) Dandy, it is a succulent tuberous geophyte, the stems UP TO 5-40 (-60) cm. Inflorescence in raceme or panicle, with middle bracts generally as long as the pedicels. Flowers 4.5-8 x 2.5-4.5 mm, broadly cylindrical or urceolate, long pediceled, generally pendulous, yellowish or reddish after anthesis. Corolla lobes 1-2 x 1.5-2 mm, broadly ovate. Sepals 1.2-2 x 0.6-1.4 mm, ovate-triangular, stamens 10.  Life Form: G, Su,   Flowering in: Mar- May,   Vern:———–,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, W. Europe to Medit. and Arabian Peninsula, SW. India.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
