Lavandula multifida L., it is an aromatic semi-shrub 15–80(–90) cm tall, twigs usually long distally hairy, these hairs simple, more than 2 mm long. The leaves are opposite, twice pinnate, ovate in outline, 1–5 cm long and 0.5–2.5(–3) cm wide, glabrous or with appressed stellate hairs, the segments of the last order are 3.5–12 mm long, dashed. The inflorescence is cylindrical, 1.2–8 cm long, composed of 7–15 two-flowered whorls, bracts ovate, 3.5–4.5 mm long. Calyx tubular, (4–)4.5–5 mm long, dark red or purple, 2 lower teeth triangular, 1–2 mm long, upper teeth indistinct. The crown is lipped, 9–14 mm long, blue-violet, the tips of the upper lip are 2–5 mm long, the lower lip 1–2 mm long. Stamens are 4, the testis is superior. The fruits are ellipsoidal to rounded-conical drupes, 1.6–1.7 mm long.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in: Mar-Apr,   Vern: Khozama,   Phytochoria: MED+SA, The native range of this species is S. Portugal to SW. Italy, N. Africa to NE. Sudan.   Notes: Wild in Libya, medicinal plant.
