Salvia aegyptiaca L., it is a sufruticose plants, perennials up to c. 10-20 (-40) cm high, very branched, with ascending to erect stems. Leaves narrow, linear-elliptic to linear-oblong, short petiolate, with crenate to serrated margins. Inflorescence erect, lax, with the whorls well-spaced at the bottom. Flowers, usually, 2-6 per whorl, bracts shorter than the calyx, green. Calyx pedicellate, campanulate, bilabiate, somewhat accrecent in fruiting, equipped with glandular and eglandular hairs. Corolla up to 8 mm, white, tinged lavender, rarely completely white.  Nuculas c. 1.5 x 1 x 0.5 mm, narrowly obovate-oblong, trigonal, with very softened angles and the 3 faces practically flat. Surface somewhat shiny, charcoal colored, minimally reticulated-foveolated.  Life Form: Ch,   Flowering in: Dec-Jun,   Vern: Shejert el ghazal,   Phytochoria: SA+SZ, The native range of this species is Macaronesia to NW. India.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
