Carex flacca Schreb. / Infraspecifics: Carex flacca ssp. flacca , it is a rhizomatous geophyte up to 20-80cm. Subtrigonal stem, a little scabrous. Leaves 2-5 mm wide, glaucous especially below, rigid, scabrous, with double longitudinal fold. Inflorescence 5-15 cm long. female spikes 2-4, 2-5 cm long, leaning then hanging, long stalked,  male spikes 2-4, terminal. Stigmata 3. Purplish-brown, acute scales. Utricles dark brown to black, rough, 3-4.5 mm long, short, truncated beak.  Life Form: G,   Flowering in: Mar-Jun,   Vern:————-,   Phytochoria: ES+MED+IT,  The native range of this species is Europe, Medit to Pakistan.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
