Centaurium pulchellum (Sw.) Hayek ex Hand.-Mazz., Stadlm., Janch. & Faltis / Infraspecifics: Centaurium pulchellum var. altaicum (Griseb.) Cufod. / Heterotypic Synonyms:  Centaurium meyeri (Bunge) Druce,  it is an annual or biennial plant 4-25 cm, glabrous, sometimes dwarf and pauciflorous; stem slender, erect, branched from the base or the middle, with open branches. Leaves spaced, ovate or oblong-lanceolate, 4-8 mm wide, with 3-5 veins, the radicals never in a rosette, the lower ones shorter than the upper ones. Pink flowers, small, pedunculated, in loose, spreading dichotomous cymes. Calyx with lobes a little shorter than the corolla tube, this one with oblong lobes, 3-5 mm long, much shorter than the tube at the end tightened at the throat. Capsule equaling the chalice.   Life Form:Th ,   Flowering in: May-Oct ,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: Pal , The native range of this species is Europe, Medit. to Sahara and Xinjiang.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
