Juncus subulatus Forssk., it is a perennial plant reaching 1 meter, glabrous, with creeping rhizomes. Stems leafy, robust, cylindrical. Leaves 1-4 on stem, erect, sub cylindrical awl-shaped, hollow, soft, not knotted.  Greenish flowers, small, solitary, in very dense terminal panicle, long, narrow, interrupted, with erect branches, short bracts. Perianth almost equally divided, lanceolate awl-shaped. 6 stamens. Capsule equalling perianth, trigonous-ovoid, obtuse, mucronulate, brown, shiny. Seeds 0.6-0.7 mm.  Life Form: G,   Flowering in: Apr-May,   Vern: Dees,   Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is Medit. to Central Asia.  Notes: Wild in Libya.
