Marrubium deserti (de Noè) Coss./ Homotypic Synonyms: Ballota deserti (de Noè) Jury, Rejdali & A.J.K.Griffiths, it is a shrub with white woolly appressed hairs. Leaves small, cuneiform or wedge shaped, bearing 3 dentitions at the apex. Flowers in small glomerulus clusters in the axils of the leaves, lax, interrupted, 12-15 mm broad. Calyx 4-6 mm, tube contracted at the apex. Corolla pale-rosy, small, shorthly slightly exserted beyond the calyx tube. Calyx considerably accrescent, forming a membranous halo round the fruit. Life Form: N.Ph, Flowering in: Mar-Apr, Vern:————-, Phytochoria: SA, The native range of this species is N. Africa to NW. Mauritania. Notes: Wild in Libya, in a pre-desert and maritime zone.
