Ononis angustissima Lam./ Homotypic Synonyms: Ononis natrix   ssp. angustissima (Lam.) Sirj., it is a subshrub very similar to the Ononis natrix L. and probably only a variant of it, with thin, erect, rigid branches, minutely viscid-pubescent. Leaflets very narrow, (3-) 4-5 times as long as broad, ± linear, usually inconspicuous, somewhat deciduous, so that the branches (especially in the upper parts) appear leafless with stipules only, pedicels capillary, much exceeding the stipules. The flowers grow singly, they are stalked, the calyx tips are lanceolate, glandular hairy, the crowns are yellow, often with red veins, the peduncle is glabrous. The fruit is a narrow pod up to 2 cm long.  Life Form: N.Ph,   Flowering in: Feb-Apr,  Vern:————–,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Canary Islands, N. Africa.   Notes: Wild in Libya, a species seems to be more common in the coastal areas of Tripoli and west.
