Ononis serrata Forssk., it is an annual herb, branched from the base. Stems erect, ascending or prostrate. Leaves trifoliolate with oblong leaflets, with sparsely toothed margins, teeth sometimes reduced to tubercles. Flowers solitary, short pediceled, arranged in a dense terminal raceme, which then elongates after anthesis. Corolla just slightly larger than the calyx, standard pink. often bluish-purple. Pods ± ovoid, included in the persistent calyx. Seeds c. 1.1-1.3 x 1.1-1.2 x 0.9-1 mm, oblong-ovoid, almost spherical, somewhat asymmetrical.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern:————– ,   Phytochoria: MED+SA+IT, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, Mauritania to N. Africa, Kárpathos to Iran and Arabian Peninsula.     Notes: Wild in Libya.
